FeaturesBenefits
Dual Sidewall DesignsEach Grappler has two sidewall designs so you can choose how your tires look. On the Mud Grappler, one side has lizard skin side lugs and the other has plain side lugs. This feature was an engineering feat since even a small weight imbalance can cause unwanted vibrations. Nitto produces exceptionally uniform off-road tires even with different designs.
Aggressive Sidewall LugsThe sidewall design is as important as the tread pattern for maximum off-road performance. The Nitto Mud Grappler mud terrain tire has one of the most aggressive and functional sidewall designs on the market. The massive lugs provide additional biting edges, which is especially helpful in rocky terrain. The additional depth also provides punctured resistance.
High Void RatioThe high void ratio between the tread blocks efficiently clears mud and dirt from the pattern to provide excellent traction in extreme terrain.
Puncture ResistanceThe three-ply polyester sidewall construction and high strength steel belt tread package improve puncture resistance.
Off-Road TractionThe tread blocks are arranged to keep part of the lugs biting the ground at all times.

Overall the Nitto Mud Grappler has been a great tire. I've kept up on the general maintenance of these tires (air pressure, rotation, balancing, etc.) and have gotten over 40K miles out of them so far. They can be noisy when driving down the highway, but if you can put up with that these will make a great tire for your 4X4.

Dry Traction 5/5   Steering Response 4/5

Had these tires for 4 1/2 years now. As long as you rotate them you will get great mileage! So far I have put 67,000 miles on mine! Very loud on highway but that's expected. Best looking tire out there.

Tires are not recommended for every day highway use. I learned a hard lesson with these tires. I had just had them put on and made a trip from New Jersey to visit family in North Carolina. By the time i got there, the tread knuckles were worn completely out on the front tires. I checked alignment, but not the issue. Rubber was just too soft and burned out on highway.

Would Buy Again 1/5   Hydroplaning Resistance 2/5
Wet Traction 2/5   Cornering Stability 3/5
Dry Traction 4/5   Steering Response 4/5
Snow Traction 3/5
